week 7...

Weight at Weigh-in (WI): 157.4# (Monday)
Weight lost since last week's WI: 1 pound
Goal by Amelia's 3rd Birthday (March 28, 07): 145#
Goal for the week: WATER, WATER, WATER!! Track everything and work out at least 5 days.
Well, I'm down a pound again. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster ride. Up a pound, down a pound. Hopefully next week will be down a pound again. I want to see that scale say 155 or less! I'm tired of seeing 157 or 158. I feel like I'm fairly on track with WW. With the exception of last week. We ate out Friday night, Saturday for lunch (Subway), while we were running errands. Then we ate out again Sunday evening. Friday night we even splurged and had DQ, which I probably would have been better off skipping, but a blizzard sounded so good. I only got a small and shared it with Amelia, which helped me from feeling so piggish! Also we didn't work out Friday-Monday night. Friday it was after ten when we got home from Matt and Kelly's. Saturday night it was about eleven when we got home. We had been to Kevin's dad's for his b-day and then went to visit Jim and Nickie (family friends/co-worker of Kev's) for a while. Then Sunday, we were just so beat after the kids went to bed that we went to bed ourselves.
I'm trying to keep a handle on portion control and really watch how much I'm putting into my body. I did work out tonight, 3o minutes on the elliptical and I felt much better about myself.
On to week 8!

new recipe---"Juicy Hamburgers"

This is straight off the WW site. They were GREAT! Just had to share the recipe. I'm trying something new here! :) Kevin really liked them too, as did the kids. I can't wait to have them on the grill this summer. We fried them inside last night on the stove.

Try them out...I'm sure you'll like it!

Juicy Hamburgers

POINTS® Value: 5
Servings: 4
Preparation Time: 8 min
Cooking Time: 10 minLevel of Difficulty: Easy

This Worcestershire sauce- and garlic-spiked burger recipe is part of our Perfectly Simple series.

Ingredients:
1 sprays cooking spray
1 pound uncooked lean ground beef (with 7% fat)
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp table salt
1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
4 reduced-calorie hamburger roll(s)

Instructions:
Coat a large griddle, outdoor grill rack or stovetop grill pan with cooking spray and preheat to medium-high.
In a large bowl, combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix well and shape mixture into 4 patties, about 1-inch thick each. (To retain juiciness, be careful not to overwork the meat.)
Place burgers on hot griddle or grill and cook 5 minutes per side for medium (or longer until desired doneness).
Serve burgers on buns with your favorite 0 POINTS value toppings.

Notes:
Simply add a few highly flavored ingredients to lean ground beef and you can enjoy tasty burgers in minutes. Great toppings for these juicy patties include tomato and red onion slices, pickles and spicy mustard.

If you try them out, let me know what you think! :)

week 6

Well this is going to be fairly short and sweet, as it's getting late and I just wanted to hold myself accountable and post on here.

I gained 1 pound from last week. But I believe it was due to my short comings for the week and I must hold myself accountable. Monday and Tuesday I worked out. I didn't work out on Wednesday (our off night--due to Kev being at Church), didn't work out Thursday (we went grocery shopping before the freezing weekend and it was 10:00 when we got home, then it was almost 11 by time we got the kids in bed and the groceries put away.). Friday we worked out. But skipped Saturday---we were feeling rather lazy---shame on us. Sunday I did work out---we worked out seperate, between the kids' naps. Monday I worked out in the morning while both kids were napping, for about a half hour or so. Also, I didn't track what I ate Weds, Thurs or Friday, but did do the weekend. And I didn't drink as much water as I should have over the weekend. Part of me thinks "well maybe the 1 pound gain is fat turning to muscle?" Ha! Wishful thinking! It would be nice however!

So far, I'm off to a good start this week. I did my work out yesterday, even though it wasn't as long as normal. I tracked everything yesterday. Today I ran on the elliptical for 30 minutes and my hair was drenched afterwards that I immediately hit the shower. So I felt really good about that workout. Plus I tracked everything I had today. Even the 4 molasses cookies that my mom sent me in the mail today. They are the best and I haven't had one in years. My great-grandma always had them at her house when I was a kid. And she passed away 8 years ago this past Novemeber. So that was a special treat. I may have to beg my mom to send me more in a couple months!

But this is a whole new week and I get a fresh new start!

Week 5

Well, I worked out everyday since Sunday with the exception of Wednesday, I decided to take it easy that night! I've done the elliptical for at least 30 minutes every night, last night I only did 20 minutes. I had a headache and didn't feel like working out much. I was only going to do 15 minutes, but pushed myself the extra 5!

Well I started this blog yesterday (Monday the 14th) and I am finally finishing it now! Last Monday when I weighed-in, on my regular weigh-in day, I weighed 159.0, and when I weighed myself last Tuesday, I weighed 157.0, somehow I lost 2 pounds overnight. Then Wednesday it was back up and then Aunt Flo reared her ugly head and I gained again. So I decided that I would stick to my normal weigh-in day and keep that weight! So this week when I weighed in I weighed 157.4, so I lost 1.6 pounds.

So far this week, I've been doing well tracking my food, tracking my exercise, taking it easy on the snacking, drinking lost of water and overall trying to take better care of myself!

Week 4

Well, it's been a week into the "New Year" and I'm on track...this far! I'm doing well with Weight Watchers, I'm tracking everything, I think the only day I missed was Saturday, other than that, I did well. We got an Elliptical and a weight machine so I can finally work out at home, which is great! This was my third night working out and it's getting easier. I'm sure in a month it'll be a breeze! I do 30 minutes and the elliptical and then 3 Reps of 20 ab crunches and 3 reps of 15 side bends. Tonight I only did the elliptical and the ab crunches, but yesterday I did the elliptical for an hour total, 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening with Kevin.

First I weighed in yesterday (my normal WI day) and I was up 1 pound from last week. Then I weighed in this morning to see if there was a change and I was down 1 pounds from last week. (down 2 pounds from yesterday AM) So that was exciting. I feel more motivated when I actually see a change in the scale. I'm less likely to give up as easy!

Weight this AM at Weigh-in (WI): 157.0#

Weight lost since last week's WI: 1.0#

Goal by Amelia's 3rd Birthday (March 28, 07): 145#

Goal for the week: work out, continue tracking EVERYTHING, drinks lots of water!

Wish me luck in the coming weeks! I could use all the encouragement possible. Thanks!

week 3 (missed week 2)

Well, I managed to miss week 2, I'll blame it on the holidays! But somehow I also managed to lose a little weight during the holidays. Go figure! But today I decided I wanted to be serious about the weight loss gig and really paid attention to what I had to eat and drink throughout the day. I didn't snack today. My dessert for the evening was a Granny Smith Apple, my favorite! I took it easy today and only went over my points by 1 point, so not horrible. Plus I did lots of walking at work, which is normal and then tonight when I got home I made several trips up and down our stairs to get various things to and from the basement.

My current weight: 158
My new goal: 150# by February 10th, 2008.
My personal goal for the week: Stay on plan, track everything I eat, drink lots of water and BLOG!
